Job Description
Drafters & Designers! Wilson Trailer Company is hiring Drafters & Designers for our Yankton, South Dakota Location! Great Trailers, Great People, & a lot of fun! Essential Functions Utilize and apply drafting standards and techniques to Computer Aided Design (CAD) system. Prepare complete sets of drawings which include technical layout, multiple view, detail drawings and assembly drawings. Maintain proper documentation and database changes. Establish advance material requirements and bills of material; load bills into product structure as required to meet schedules. Utilize mathematical formulas to compute weights, load capacities, dimensions, quantities of material, etc. Interface with internal staff as well as customers and vendors regarding technical issues pertaining to parts, design, usage, specifications, etc. Provide guidance to Drafters as needed. Check work for accuracy and compatibility with standards. Review production orders and correctly identifies and orders the special parts required. Issue Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN). Design work generally limited to complex layout of trailers based on standards and established practices; assignments designed to develop increasing knowledge of product applications. Improve processes and conditions to create an environment that is more productive, including learning and applying advanced CAD capabilities.
