Puyallup WA Area In Person Position:
Monday - Friday About the Role We are looking for a detail-oriented CAD Technician who bridges architectural design and production, transforming concepts into buildable production drawings. The role focuses on custom casework, cabinetry, and architectural woodwork, requiring strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor, technical detailing skills, and expertise in material usage and hardware.
Key Responsibilities Shop Drawing Development:
Create detailed millwork drawings, sections, and elevations in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD for submittal and fabrication.
Engineering & Design:
Convert design intent into buildable cabinetry, paneling, and custom millwork details.
Coordination:
Coordinate with project managers, shop personnel, and installers to manage dimensions, materials, and hardware.
Constructability Analysis:
Review plans for potential issues and ensure feasibility before fabrication.
Site Support & Revisions:
Revise drawings based on field measurements and provide technical guidance to the production floor.
Required Qualifications Technical Proficiency:
Proficiency in parametric 3D modeling, AutoCAD, and basic drafting skills.
Experience:
Previous experience in architectural millwork, cabinetry, or custom casework.
Construction Knowledge:
Strong understanding of woodworking joinery, fabrication methods, and materials.
Detail-Oriented:
Ability to produce accurate, clear, and complete fabrication documents under tight deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Experience with 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360, SketchUp, or Cabinet Vision. Previous experience working directly with a fabrication shop or CNC processes (e.g., nesting, CAM files).
