Job Description
MARS Solutions Group is looking for an experienced Mechanical Designer located in Milwaukee, WI . Our client is an Automation industry leader looking for high-quality talent to make a difference. They are known to respect a traditional work week and often extend contracts for added job security and stability Role Summary / Overview The Mechanical Designer supports the development of high-current and high-voltage power conversion and Motor Control Center (MCC) products. This role focuses on creating and maintaining mechanical CAD drawings, supporting engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle, and ensuring designs meet established standards for quality, safety, manufacturability, and cost. The designer will collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and cross-functional teams to develop and update product designs, documentation, and engineering change records. Responsibilities Create and update CAD drawings and models based on engineering sketches, notes, and design concepts. Maintain design documentation including Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and Engineering Change Notices (ECN) following established procedures. Support new product development initiatives for industrial power control and electrical distribution equipment. Ensure drawings comply with engineering standards, quality requirements, and manufacturability guidelines. Collaborate with engineers and project teams to review designs and recommend improvements. Work with large mechanical assemblies (200+ components) within CAD environments. Participate in design reviews and product development activities. Required Skills & Experience 3+ years of mechanical CAD design experience using tools such as Creo, Pro/E, or AutoCAD. Experience managing large CAD assemblies (200+ components). Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes including:
Sheet metal fabrication Plastic forming Machining processes Experience working with power distribution equipment (240 690V AC systems) is preferred. Experience with Pro-E CAD modeling preferred. Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus. High School Diploma or GED required Technical CAD training or equivalent hands-on experience preferredAdditional Information Duration:
