Job Overview Position Summary The Architectural Drafter is responsible for producing accurate, detailed residential construction documents that align with the client's design, drafting, and construction standards. This role works closely with the Architectural, Interior Design, and Construction teams to ensure project documentation is complete, coordinated, and buildable throughout the design and construction process. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, technically proficient, organized, and able to manage multiple residential projects while maintaining a high level of drawing accuracy and consistency. Architectural Drafting & Documentation

• Create and maintain accurate residential architectural drawings using AutoCAD.
• Develop and update floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and other required construction documentation.
• Maintain and update AutoCAD models throughout the design process as needed.
• Prepare complete Construction Document sets in accordance with drafting standards.
• Incorporate approved design revisions into architectural plans accurately and efficiently.
• Ensure drawings clearly communicate design intent and provide the information necessary for construction. Quality Control & Drafting Standards
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and constructability prior to release.
• Identify discrepancies or missing information within project documentation and coordinate resolution with the appropriate team member.
• Maintain consistency in drafting conventions, annotations, dimensions, details, and documentation across projects.
• Assist in improving drafting standards, templates, checklists, and documentation processes. Interior Design Support
• Support the Interior Design team during Phase 2 by incorporating approved interior selections and design decisions into architectural drawings.
• Coordinate architectural plans with interior elevations, cabinetry, plumbing, lighting, and other design-related information as required.
• Assist with maintaining alignment between the architectural drawings and the Spec Book. Spec Books & Project Documentation
• Verify that information shown within the construction documents is coordinated with project specifications.
• Update documentation as selections, specifications, and project details evolve.
• Help identify inconsistencies between plans, specifications, and approved project information. Change Orders & Revisions
• Draft architectural revisions resulting from approved Change Orders.
• Ensure revisions are clearly documented and incorporated into the appropriate construction documents.
• Maintain accurate documentation of changes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate revised information with Interior Design, Construction, and other affected departments. Permitting Support
• Provide drafting and documentation support for municipal permitting as needed.
• Assist with revisions requested during permit review.
• Ensure permit-related drawing updates are accurately reflected in project documentation. Process & Project Management
• Follow established processes, workflows, and documentation requirements.
• Maintain project files and drawing sets in an organized and consistent manner.
• Track assigned drafting responsibilities and deadlines across multiple active projects.
• Communicate proactively when information is missing or when drafting issues may affect project timelines.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to drafting efficiency, quality, and documentation. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Problem Solving
• Collaborate with Architecture, Interior Design, Construction, and other internal teams.
• Assist in resolving drawing-related questions that arise during design and construction.
• Research and troubleshoot architectural and construction-documentation issues.
• Communicate clearly with team members to resolve discrepancies before they become field issues. Qualifications
• AutoCAD proficiency required.
• Chief Architect experience preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years of residential architectural drafting experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of residential construction methods, building materials, and construction documentation.
• General understanding of residential building codes and permitting requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, engineering information, and project specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to drawing accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, revisions, and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary residential design and construction team.

Pay:

$45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
