Job Description
Pinno Construction is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Residential Home Designer/Drafter to be a part of our drafting department and support construction projects from concept through completion. This role combines hands-on drafting with team leadership, ensuring all construction drawings are accurate, code-compliant, and aligned with client expectations and company standards. The Drafter plays a key role in coordinating between sales, project management, engineering, and field teams to deliver high-quality, buildable plans.
Job Location:
In person at Rosendale, Wisconsin Office Drafting & Design- Prepare and oversee complete construction drawing sets (plans, elevations, sections, and details)
- Translate conceptual designs, sketches, and field measurements into accurate CAD drawings
- Review and approve all drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Revise drawings based on internal feedback, client input, and field conditions
- Identify and resolve conflicts, omissions, and constructability issues Project Coordination
- Collaborate with sales team after initial client visits to ensure designs are functional and feasible
- Coordinate with project managers, designers, and estimators throughout the design-build process
- Communicate with upper management to prioritize and meet plan delivery deadlines
- Work closely with engineers and suppliers on structural calculations and material requirements
- Assist with zoning, code compliance, and permitting documentation Standards & Systems
- Maintain and improve drawing libraries, templates, and version control system
- Implement standardized drafting protocols across the department
- Ensure organized digital file management and documentation practices
- Train team members on drafting techniques, software, and calculation methods Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of drafting experience (leadership experience preferred)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit experience a plus)
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and terminology
- Working knowledge of building codes, zoning requirements, and permitting processes
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Architecture, Construction Technology, or related field
- Experience across a variety of construction project types
- Familiarity with structural, electrical, and mechanical coordination
- At least 2 year drafting experience Work Environment
- Office-based with occasional site visits
- Travel to remote offices as needed
- Full-time position in a collaborative, fast-paced construction environment What We Offer
