Job Summary The successful candidate will be responsible for driving change and continuous improvement within a precipitated silica production facility.

Responsibilities:

Regularly review statistical data, such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts, in the assigned area or product. This review includes analysis of the data for trends and reoccurring events or anything leading to out-of-control situations and communication of these situations to the other Performance Engineers when those out-of-control situations may affect their operating areas as well. Determine the root cause of out-of-control situations and work toward controlling those behaviors. Track major equipment efficiency and provide solutions accordingly. Document and maintain data reviews for future references, including verification for quality system audits. Utilize statistical discovery tools to extract data necessary for trend analysis. Develop and present data, recommendations, and improvement plans at Quality Review meetings Stay familiar with FMEAs and Control Plans (aka Process Information Sheets) in the assigned areas and work with the operations foreman in initiating changes where necessary to improve control of a focus area. Take ownership of internal and customer CAIRs. It is expected that tasks can be assigned to others as necessary and appropriate. Review CAIRs/Corrective Actions regularly to ensure that potential problems are identified and appropriate action taken. Work on projects related to debottlenecking and improving throughput. Manage experimental product campaigns. Be familiar with quality control lab analyses and product specifications. Understand product parameters and how they are affected by changes in the manufacturing process.

Requirements:

B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering One to Three years of experience in continuous and batch process manufacturing environment. A self-starting analytically driven team player focused on taking responsibility, building trust and respect, managing complexity, and delivering results will excel in this role. An open-minded team player to embrace changes. Proven success in troubleshooting chemical and mechanical issues in a manufacturing environment. (Preferred) A problem solver with demonstrated success in analyzing data, identifying opportunities, and developing and executing improvement or corrective plans. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others - at all levels of the organization - are essential.
