Intern-Coatings R D Intern Summary:

Coatings R D intern will work with a senior chemist to support development of new chemistries/products for use as a coating ingredient to enhance different performance attributes.

Responsibilities Include:

Evaluation and design of new chemistries for use as coating additives or resins. Coating formulation and testing to ensure performance properties meet requirements for target applications. Fundamental studies to understand structure-property relationship using different analytical techniques. Documentation of all studies and presentation to technology team and leaders.

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role Competent in conducting experiments in a chemical lab setup and using basic analytical instruments. Prior experience or knowledge of Coating technologies preferred but not a requirement. Ability to learn and execute quickly, collaboration and teamwork, problem solving and analytical mindset. Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Program Qualifications:

The candidate must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of application and for at least one semester following the conclusion of the internship. The candidate is expected to be available 40 hours a week for a period of 10-12 weeks between the months of May and August.

Education Requirement:

Completed BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. Enrolled in MS or PhD program in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.

Base Pay Range:

$22.00 - $26.00 The base salary offered is determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, skill sets, and geography.
