Senior Chemical Process Engineer Cincinnati, OH | Full-Time | On-Site | First Shift About the Opportunity A growing chemical manufacturer in the Cincinnati area is seeking a Senior Chemical Process Engineer to lead process optimization, manufacturing improvements, new product introductions, and technical support initiatives within a dynamic production environment. This role serves as a key technical resource for the facility, partnering with operations, maintenance, quality, engineering, and customers to improve manufacturing performance, troubleshoot complex process challenges, and support long-term growth initiatives. The position offers significant visibility within the organization and the opportunity to drive meaningful improvements in safety, reliability, productivity, and product quality. Key Responsibilities Lead process improvement initiatives focused on safety, production efficiency, quality, and reliability. Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support for manufacturing operations. Support the development, scale-up, and commercialization of new products and processes. Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure successful product implementation and ongoing operational support. Plan, organize, and execute plant trials, process validations, and manufacturing tests. Lead root cause investigations and implement effective corrective and preventive actions. Develop and maintain process documentation including process flow diagrams, P&IDs, SOPs, work instructions, control plans, and related technical documentation. Identify opportunities to improve raw material utilization, yield, throughput, and overall process performance. Support capital projects from concept through implementation. Collaborate with operations, maintenance, quality, and leadership teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering and operational personnel. Participate in strategic planning efforts related to manufacturing and process improvements. Qualifications Required Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or related engineering discipline. 8+ years of process engineering experience within a chemical manufacturing or related production environment. Experience supporting manufacturing operations through troubleshooting, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives. Strong knowledge of process design, process documentation, and manufacturing systems. Experience leading projects and influencing cross-functional teams. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Preferred Experience within specialty chemicals, food ingredients, industrial chemicals, liquid processing, blending, or related manufacturing environments. Customer-facing technical support or contract manufacturing experience. Experience with capital project planning and execution. Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement training/certification. Familiarity with PLCs, DCS systems, and advanced process control strategies. Experience with process validation, risk assessments, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
