Salaried role You will be expected to provide coverage across both 1st and 2nd shifts, generally spanning 7:00 AM•2:00 PM and 3:00 PM•11:00 PM, based on operational needs. Role Summary Our facility is seeking a skilled Process Technician to oversee injection and compression molding tasks specifically for fiberglass composite production. This position involves direct engagement with equipment to refine and stabilize molding workflows, ensuring that output meets high quality standards while reducing operational interruptions. You will collaborate across departments, including Engineering and Quality, to facilitate new product rollouts and enhance overall manufacturing effectiveness. Core Duties Initiate, refine, and debug molding operations immediately following mold changeovers Define and document critical process settings such as cooling cycles, cure times, clamp force, pressure, and heat levels Resolve equipment, tooling, or material-related complications to help the team reduce scrap and maintain uptime Address common molding flaws like short shots, flash, voids, warpage, and surface issues to ensure high-quality output Oversee active production runs, performing necessary tweaks to uphold efficiency and quality benchmarks Create and update technical documentation, including standard operating procedures and setup guides Assist in the execution of process validations, mold testing, and the introduction of new products Educate production personnel on standard processing techniques to help improve team proficiency Partner with Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality departments to boost collective manufacturing output Lead initiatives to shorten cycle times and increase OEE to help the company reach its production goals Ensure all activities adhere to established environmental, quality, and safety protocols Qualifications High School Diploma or GED is mandatory Background in manufacturing, plastics, or composites training is a plus Between 3 and 5 years of professional experience in compression or injection molding Deep understanding of how to optimize processes and perform technical troubleshooting Capacity to analyze quality specs, work instructions, and engineering blueprints Strong mechanical reasoning and the ability to solve complex technical problems Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset Desired Background Hands-on experience with thermoplastic or thermoset fiberglass-reinforced composite materials Familiarity with Scientific Molding, SPC, and Lean Manufacturing methodologies Prior involvement in process improvement projects and new product manufacturing launches Our Ideal Candidate We are searching for a proactive Process Technician who thrives on technical problem-solving and enhancing production results.
