Spherion is seeking two motivated Process Engineers with hands-on injection molding experience to join a growing engineering team in Bristol, RI. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced manufacturing professionals as well as recent engineering graduates with internship experience in plastics or injection molding. The Process Engineer will help optimize injection molding processes, improve production efficiency, troubleshoot technical issues, reduce scrap, and support high-precision manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:

Set up, troubleshoot, and optimize injection molding processes and machine parameters.

Adjust processing conditions to improve yield, quality, and cycle times.

Collaborate with production, quality, tooling, and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.

Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process deviations and quality issues.

Identify opportunities to reduce scrap and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

Assist with tool sampling, new product introductions (NPI), and scientific molding trials.

Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), setup sheets, and process documentation. ...

Monitor production processes and recommend improvements to efficiency, quality, and reliability.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and Six Sigma projects.

Support the implementation of new manufacturing technologies and processing techniques.

Previous experience in a plastics or injection molding manufacturing environment.

Experience with scientific molding principles and process optimization.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies.

Experience with root-cause analysis and corrective action processes.

Familiarity with OEE, scrap reduction, and continuous improvement programs.

Experience with new product introduction (NPI), tooling trials, or process validation.

Internship or co-op experience in plastics, injection molding, or manufacturing engineering will be considered for recent graduates.

Familiarity with process documentation, SOPs, setup sheets, and manufacturing standards.

Education:
Bachelors Experience:

1-4 years

Qualifications:

Bachelor???s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Hands-on experience with plastic injection molding processes, machinery, and tooling.

Ability to troubleshoot injection molding processes and identify production issues.

Knowledge of mechanical principles and manufacturing processes.

Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to interpret technical information, process documentation, and manufacturing specifications.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.
