Spherion is seeking a skilled CNC Milling Machinist / Programmer for a full-time, direct-hire opportunity. This position is ideal for an experienced CNC professional with programming, setup, and machining experience. The successful candidate will use CAD/CAM software to program and operate CNC milling machines while producing high-precision components to engineering specifications.

Responsibilities:

Program, set up, and operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC milling machines.

Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software.

Generate and modify G-code and M-code programs.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.

Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and work-holding fixtures.

Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks.

Use precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs.

Troubleshoot machining issues, tool wear, and program errors.

Maintain accurate production and inspection records.

Assist with toolroom activities, custom fixturing, mold/die repair, and prototype development as needed.

Maintain a clean and organized work area. ...

Perform routine equipment maintenance and report issues as needed.

7:00 AM - 3:30

Experience working with CMM inspection equipment.

Experience machining tight-tolerance components.

Experience with multiple CNC control systems.

Additional CAD/CAM programming experience.

Education:
High School Experience:

1-4 years

Qualifications:

Previous experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC milling machines.

Experience with 3-, 4-, or 5-axis CNC machining.

Proficiency with CAD/CAM programming software such as Mastercam, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, GibbsCAM, or similar.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.

Knowledge of CNC programming, including G-code and M-code.

Ability to select cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and work-holding methods.

Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.

Ability to troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues.

Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
