About Franklin Engineering:
Franklin Engineering Group, Inc. is a multi-disciplinary engineering firm founded in 1998 and located in the Nashville, TN area. Franklin Engineering specializes in process and industrial design, specialty material handling, environmental and sustainability services. Our industry experience and breadth of technical knowledge allows us to creatively analyze problems and provide meaningful results. Our practical design and trouble-shooting strategies maximize the potential for successful projects. Our senior staff average over 20 years' experience in design and implementation.
Job Summary:
The Chemical Engineer is responsible for the development of chemical processes for client improvement and expansion projects including conceptual and detailed design. The Chemical Engineer will work with other Franklin engineers to deliver quality designs for our clients. The Chemical engineer will interact with clients, contractors and vendors during the design process.
Responsibilities:
Development of chemical process conceptual designs Development of heat and material balances Development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) Development of Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs) Development of hydraulic studies Development of process instrument and equipment specifications Participate in process, equipment and control design reviews Participate in process hazards analysis (PHA) Provide startup and troubleshooting support, as needed, for projects
Qualifications:
Chemical Engineering degree from ABET accredited institution Internship/Co-Op experience required in process engineering and/or design of chemical manufacturing plants Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary Detail oriented and familiarity with design methodologies Familiarity with ChemCAD or other process simulation software is a plus Direct employment experience in chemical process plants is a plus Travel required ~ 25%
