Job Description

Process Engineer 1080 Confroy Drive, South Boston, VA 24592 Full-time Full-time IperionX is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Process Engineer to join our team at IperionX's Titanium Production Facility at the Titanium Manufacturing Campus in the Southern Virginia Technology Park. In this role, you will aid in solving technical problems involved in scaling up a revolutionary titanium powder manufacturing process. Requirements and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, electrical, or materials science engineering or other relevant engineering discipline. 2 years of experience preferred in heavy industry or manufacturing; metals experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems with the use of data. Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and apply curiosity to understand manufacturing processes. Team oriented individual with strong oral and written communication skills. Experience with process safety management and process hazard analysis. Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Products, experience with Python and SQL programming preferred. Strong background in statistics; Six Sigma green belt or higher preferred. Firm understanding of Lean Manufacturing methodology. Responsibilities/Objectives will include, but not limited to: Provide technical ownership of assigned processing areas with the goals of hazard mitigation, continuous improvement and process understanding. Lead on-site commissioning efforts of titanium powder processing equipment in alignment with production schedule. Actively support production initiatives with cross functional teams and own KPI's related to safety, quality, and operability. Serve as subject matter expert of processing equipment and collaborate with maintenance team to increase reliability and effectiveness. Participate in plant process design including design reviews, PHA's, and engineering documentation refinement. Manage projects related to demonstration and commercialization of proprietary processing technologies. Support quality initiatives related to QMS implementation, SPC, and variability reduction. Solve complex technical problems with supporting data analysis. Scope, manage and execute continuous improvement projects and track actual savings.
