Senior Drafter (Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings)
Salary:
+ Profit Sharing A growing manufacturing and construction organization is seeking an experienced Senior Drafter to join its Building Systems team. This position plays a key role in the design, detailing, and coordination of Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Metal Building Software (MBS) and a strong background creating fabrication and installation drawings for metal building systems. Candidates with Drafter experience who possess strong PEMB knowledge are also encouraged to apply. This is a full-time, onsite role offering career growth, collaborative teamwork, and participation in a profit-sharing program. Must be Onsite (NO Remote) Job Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed drawings, layouts, and material take-offs for PEMB and metal building projects.
  • Create design and fabrication documents using MBS, AutoCAD, TEKLA, and related drafting software.
  • Review drawings and material lists for accuracy prior to fabrication release.
  • Interpret architectural, structural, and construction documents to produce complete drafting packages.
  • Coordinate project schedules and priorities across multiple assignments.
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, project management, and production teams to ensure project success.
  • Prepare revisions and updates based on project changes or customer requirements.
  • Support outsourced detailing efforts by reviewing and finalizing drawing packages.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and system data.
  • Assist in mentoring junior drafters and supporting continuous process improvement initiatives. Job Qualifications
  • Experience in the Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) industry.
  • Proficiency with Metal Building Software (MBS) required.
  • Experience using AutoCAD .
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and building plans.
  • Experience creating bills of materials, fabrication drawings, and installation drawings.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with TEKLA Structures .
  • Associate degree in Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of AutoCAD experience.
  • 2+ years of MBS and/or TEKLA experience.
  • Experience reviewing and checking the work of other drafters. What We're Looking For Successful candidates will demonstrate:
