This role focuses on the structural design and analysis of welded steel tanks and related systems used across industrial applications. This is not a generic design role. Youll be directly involved in the engineering of welded steel tanks, pressure vessels, and storage systems used across industrial, chemical, agricultural, and petroleum applications. The ideal candidate would have worked with
API/AWWA
tank standards and understand fabrication realities . What Youll Do Design and analyze above-ground storage tanks, vessels, and foundations Apply codes such as
API 650, API 653, AWWA D100, ASME, ACI
Review and approve calculations, drawings, and fabrication details Partner with shop and field teams to ensure designs are buildable Support projects through bidding, fabrication, installation, and repair Conduct inspections, assessments, and engineering reports Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards Required Qualifications (Must-Have) Bachelors Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering Active Professional Engineer (PE) license 5+ years of structural engineering experience Direct experience designing or analyzing storage tanks, pressure vessels, or similar heavy industrial structures Strong knowledge of structural steel and plate design, welding and fabrication processes, and foundation systems Experience applying relevant codes such as
API 650, API 653, AWWA D100, ASME, ACI, ASCE, AISC, IBC
Proficiency in structural analysis software (STAAD, RISA, SAP2000, or similar) Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar Nice to
Have:
