This is a critical technical leadership role where you'll bridge process requirements, site constraints, engineering partners, and real-world industrial construction. You will be the primary owner for CSA design decisions across front-end engineering, detailed design, construction support, commissioning, and turnover. You'll work at the intersection of heavy industrial plant design, advanced materials production, and capital project execution, making sure the physical facility is buildable, maintainable, code-compliant, and ready to support a first-of-its-kind operation. Responsibilities Own civil, structural, and architectural engineering scope for pilot, demonstration, and commercial-scale materials production facilities Develop and review CSA basis of design, site layouts, grading and drainage concepts, geotechnical scopes, foundation designs, structural steel packages, building envelopes, egress/life-safety requirements, and architectural packages Translate process equipment, utility, logistics, maintenance, and operations requirements into buildable civil and structural design requirements Lead reviews of EPC, architect-engineer, consultant, contractor, and vendor deliverables for technical quality, constructability, maintainability, schedule risk, and cost impact Own technical interfaces between CSA scope and process, mechanical, electrical, controls, utilities, EHS, permitting, construction, and operations teams Drive site investigation and site development workstreams, including topographic survey, geotechnical investigation, civil utility routing, stormwater, roads, laydown, access, and expansion planning Review and approve specifications, drawings, calculations, submittals, RFIs, change requests, inspection plans, and construction work packages related to CSA scope Support permitting, code compliance, seismic design, hazardous-area interfaces, life safety, environmental requirements, and authority-having-jurisdiction reviews Lead constructability, operability, maintainability, and value-engineering reviews that reduce construction complexity without compromising safety or long-term plant performance Provide field engineering support during construction, commissioning, punch-list resolution, turnover, and early operations Build the internal CSA engineering function, including design standards, preferred vendors, drawing review practices, and project execution playbooks Qualifications 8+ years of civil, structural, architectural, or CSA engineering experience in industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, chemical plants, mining, metals, energy, semiconductors, oil & gas, data centers, or comparable capital-intensive environments B.S. or higher degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline Proven success owning CSA scope from front-end engineering through detailed design, construction, commissioning, or plant startup Strong working knowledge of reinforced concrete, structural steel, heavy equipment foundations, pipe racks, platforms, industrial buildings, equipment pads, embedded plates, anchor bolts, drainage, grading, and underground utilities Experience reviewing engineering deliverables, calculations, drawings, specifications, BOQs, submittals, RFIs, field changes, and construction packages Familiarity with relevant codes and standards such as
