This is primarily an office-based position with occasional jobsite visits and is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in electrical construction and project management. The Project Engineer will assist Project Managers with day-to-day project coordination, including electrical takeoffs, submittals, RFIs, change order documentation, material procurement, plan and specification review, project meetings, job walks, as-built drawings, and communication with general contractors, owners, vendors, and field personnel. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically minded, organized, and comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities at the same time. Candidates should have at least one year of electrical or construction-related experience and be comfortable reading construction drawings. Experience with Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook is preferred. This is an entry-level project management position with the opportunity to take on greater responsibilities as experience is gained. Responsibilities Assist Project Managers with the day-to-day coordination of commercial electrical projects Prepare electrical material and equipment takeoffs from construction drawings Prepare, and track project submittals Prepare and track Requests for Information (RFIs) Assist with change order documentation and tracking Coordinate material and equipment procurement with vendors and suppliers Review electrical drawings, specifications, and project documents Maintain project documentation and organized electronic project files Attend project coordination meetings as needed Participate in occasional job walks and site visits Assist with maintaining and updating as-built drawings Communicate with general contractors, owners, vendors, and other project stakeholders Coordinate with foremen and field personnel to help address project needs Assist Project Managers with project closeout documentation Help track project schedules, submittal deadlines, material lead times, and other important project milestones Support multiple active projects and Project Managers as needed Qualifications Minimum 1 year of electrical or construction-related experience preferred Commercial electrical construction experience is strongly preferred Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications Familiarity with electrical plans, symbols, and basic electrical construction terminology preferred Experience with Bluebeam Revu preferred Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good written and verbal communication skills Comfortable communicating professionally with general contractors, vendors, field personnel, and other project stakeholders Self-motivated and able to work independently while also working closely with Project Managers and field teams Technically minded with a willingness to learn commercial electrical systems and construction processes Valid driver's license and ability to travel to local jobsites as needed Join our team as an Electrical Project Engineer and play an important role in supporting the successful completion of commercial electrical projects throughout the Bay Area.
