This role will support healthcare construction projects throughout Northern California, working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, design teams, and clients from preconstruction through project closeout. This is a strong opportunity for a Project Engineer who wants to build deeper experience in HCAI healthcare construction and take on meaningful project responsibility within a stable, experienced construction team. The ideal candidate has commercial construction experience, understands project documentation and field coordination, and is comfortable working in the highly detailed and compliance-driven environment that comes with healthcare construction. Key Responsibilities Support Project Managers and Superintendents throughout planning, construction, and project closeout Manage RFIs, submittals, change documentation, and project correspondence Review plans, specifications, and subcontractor scopes for completeness and coordination Maintain project documentation, drawing logs, submittal logs, and other project controls Assist with subcontractor buyout, scope review, procurement, and contract administration Track material procurement and long-lead items to support project schedules Coordinate with subcontractors, architects, engineers, inspectors, and project stakeholders Assist with change orders, pricing, cost tracking, and project budget documentation Participate in OAC meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, and project site walks Support HCAI documentation, inspections, testing, and compliance requirements Help identify drawing conflicts, constructability issues, and scope gaps before they impact the field Assist with punch lists, commissioning documentation, closeout packages, and turnover Maintain accurate and timely project information within Procore and other project management systems Requirements 2+ years of Project Engineer or related commercial construction experience preferred Healthcare, hospital, medical, or HCAI construction experience highly preferred General Contractor experience preferred Working knowledge of RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and project closeout Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Understanding of subcontractor coordination and multi-trade construction Proficiency with Procore and Bluebeam preferred Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple project priorities and deadlines Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent construction experience Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary based on experience Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan Paid holidays and PTO Career development and advancement opportunities
