Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our team. As a Project Engineer, you will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure the successful delivery of construction projects.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Project Manager and Superintendents/Foreman to assist with the schedule and procurement of job materials. Review submittals and create and log Request for Information (RFI) documents. Track all RFIs and follow up on a weekly basis. Assist the Project Manager in tracking project costs and maintaining cost reports. Generate and process billings for owners and subcontractors. Track change orders and ensure proper documentation and implementation. Support the Project Manager in coordinating material deliveries to the project site. Assist in overall project coordination and communication with stakeholders. Ensure that all field safety compliance requirements have been submitted and are being followed. Manage and organize project drawings, ensuring they are up-to-date and easily accessible. Create and log lead materials with release dates and Estimated Shipping Dates (ESD). Interpret plans and contract terms in collaboration with administrative staff. Review Extra Work tags with the Project Administrator and Project Manager. File for permits as needed, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. Reconcile billings monthly, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 2+ years experience as a Project Engineer in the construction industry, preferably within the electrical industry. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Knowledge of construction processes and procedures. Familiarity with reading and interpreting construction plans and contract documents. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
