Job Description The Project Engineer role is responsible for tracking, managing, and organizing construction administrative items on projects in which they are assigned. Thorough review and tracking of all project materials and associated lead-times is a core responsibility to ensure field teams have what they need approved and on site by the time the project requires it. Project Engineers provide additional administrative and field support for job walk notes, punch walk compilations, etc. Project engineers at Facilities Contracting are also a part of spear heading and pre-qualifying new suppliers and subcontractors and working directly with the PM team to onboard new subcontractor and supplier partners. Essential Responsibilities

  • Review subcontractor submittals for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with project drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Coordinate submittal preparation, review, revisions, and formal submission to the design team.
  • Maintain a submittal log with current status, responsible parties, and required return dates and track procurement information alongside Project managers and Superintendents.
  • Track outstanding, rejected, and revise-and-resubmit items and ensure timely resolution.
  • Identify potential material procurement or schedule impacts associated with delayed approvals.
  • Maintain organized, accurate, and up-to-date project files, logs, and document registers.
  • Distribute current drawings, specifications, addenda, and approved submittals to the appropriate project team members.
  • Maintain accurate records of approvals, changes, and project communications.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Communicate expectations, follow up on incomplete items, and escalate unresolved issues.
  • Coordinate with project management to support subcontractor onboarding and ongoing project compliance.
  • Assist with procurement tracking, and material lead times.
  • Assist with quality control documentation, inspections, punch lists, and project closeout.
  • Maintain awareness of project milestones and proactively communicate issues that may affect schedule, cost, or quality. Desired Traits
  • Bachelors Degree or equal work experience in an administrative role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Procore and Bluebeam Revu
  • Ability to work with multiple teams and groups
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PDF document management.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors, and external consultants.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and support responsibilities beyond the scope of assigned duties as project needs arise.
