Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced structural engineering professional to support the development of a next-generation launch vehicle payload accommodations structure. Our team is looking for someone who can drive hardware from concept through launch, contributing to analysis, testing, qualification, and integration activities that support safe and successful mission outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Own the full lifecycle of hardware from requirements definition through concept development, design, analysis, testing, qualification, and integration. Analyze, develop, and test primary and secondary metallic and composite unpressurized structures. Complete hand calculations and FEM analyses to report margins of safety for aerospace structures and support engineering drawing release. Plan and execute structural testing, reduce data, author test reports, and present technical content to internal and external stakeholders.
Required:
B.S. degree in engineering and 6+ years of experience with aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures. Experience on recently developed aircraft or launch vehicles in at least one of the following areas: vehicle load path distribution and first order strength assessment and sizing, skin-stringer, orthogrid, isogrid, and composite sandwich panel design. Strong understanding of composite and metallic design fundamentals, with demonstrated expertise in at least one industry standard analysis code: Ansys, Nastran, Optistruct, or Hypermesh. Experience in bolted joint design and analysis, structural design using CAD (Creo/Windchill preferred), hand calculations, and FEA tools. Ability to work in a multi-functional organization, collaborate effectively, and communicate clearly in written and verbal form.
