We are currently seeking a skilled Accident Reconstructionist Engineer or Forensic Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to our mission of providing expert insights and solutions in accident reconstruction.
Position Overview:
As an Accident Reconstructionist Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing and reconstructing accidents to determine their causes and contributing factors. You will apply your expertise in engineering principles, physics, and accident investigation techniques to provide detailed reports and expert testimony. Your work will support legal teams, insurance companies, and other stakeholders in understanding complex accident scenarios and enhancing road safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Accident Analysis:
Investigate and analyze accident scenes, vehicle damage, and physical evidence to reconstruct the events leading up to, during, and following the accident.
Data Collection:
Gather and interpret data from various sources, including vehicle black boxes, traffic camera footage, witness statements, and physical evidence from the accident site.
Reconstruction Modeling:
Utilize advanced software and engineering principles to create accurate 3D models and simulations of accident scenarios.
Report Preparation:
Prepare detailed and comprehensive reports that outline findings, methodologies, and conclusions. Ensure that reports are clear, accurate, and tailored to the needs of legal and insurance professionals.
Expert Testimony:
Provide expert testimony in legal proceedings and depositions. Explain technical concepts and findings in a clear and understandable manner to non-technical audiences.
Collaboration:
Work closely with attorneys, insurance adjusters, law enforcement, and other stakeholders to provide expert advice and support.
Continuous Learning:
Stay updated with the latest advancements in accident reconstruction techniques, technologies, and industry standards.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Forensic Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications in accident reconstruction are a plus.
Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Certifications:
Relevant certifications (ACTAR, SAE, etc.) are preferred. Licensed PE, or ability to obtain within 1 year is preferred.
Working Conditions:
Fieldwork is required, including travel to accident scenes. Office work involves preparing reports and conducting analysis. Occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary based on case requirements.
