As we continue to expand, we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Engineer IV (Civil Engineer) to join our team. We are looking to fill this role immediately, with our primary hiring needs at our Middleton/HQ (The Villages), Orlando (Winter Park), and Palmetto (Bradenton) offices. Job Description As an Engineer IV , you will contribute to complex civil engineering projects by performing advanced design, field work, and technical documentation. You will support licensed engineers while developing your expertise and preparing for future licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE). This role is ideal for an experienced civil engineer with advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and a strong foundation in civil design and construction.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria for projects with complex features. Perform advanced engineering calculations and design tasks for civil projects, including stormwater, earthworks, residential/commercial sites, roadways, utilities, and drainage systems. Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, permit applications, schedules, and other project documentation. Work under moderate supervision with general review of completed work, applying sound professional judgment. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal project members, to ensure project success. Provide guidance and oversight to junior engineers and technical staff, reviewing work for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company and industry standards. Support the onboarding and training of new team members, sharing technical knowledge, best practices, and project workflows to foster professional development across the team. Assist in delegating tasks, coordinating workloads, and helping maintain project timelines and quality expectations. Communicate effectively in both oral and written forms, manage conflicts professionally, and participate in official communications for project assignments and meetings. Progressively take on increased responsibility and leadership in project management, team development, and client engagement as skills and experience develop.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program required. Engineer-in-Training (EI) certification required; working toward PE licensure required. 3+ years of engineering experience in civil design and/or construction required. Advanced proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, StormWise, Bentley hydraulic modeling programs, or similar tools.
