Full-Time About the Client An established aviation manufacturer operating at a major regional hub with an integrated approach spanning design, fabrication, and long-term lifecycle support. Engineering teams here work across metallic and composite airframe platforms in a collaborative environment that invests in technical depth—developing structures from concept through certification and into sustained production.
Compensation & Benefits Base Salary:
$100,000-$130,000, based on experience and qualifications

Medical (traditional and HDHP options), dental, vision, prescription, disability, and supplemental coverage; PTO; paid holidays; paid parental leave; retirement programs; professional development support Job Summary Take ownership of structural development for primary airframe products, applying expertise in static stress analysis and fatigue and damage tolerance (F&DT) methodology to both metallic and composite components. This senior-level role works in close partnership with design teams to validate structural integrity, drive compliance, and bring advanced numerical analysis to bear on complex assembly challenges—while also serving as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced engineers on the team. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and resolve complex structural engineering problems through advanced analytical and creative technical approaches Execute thorough static stress and F&DT evaluations across metallic and non-metallic airframe components and assemblies Author formal structural analysis documentation in support of design trade studies and technical drawing releases Interface with internal engineering disciplines and external partners to work through sophisticated structural challenges Develop and champion advanced structural analysis methodologies, driving their adoption into production-ready designs Mentor junior analysts in the fundamentals of structural mechanics, material behavior, and analysis best practices Lead defined scopes within major engineering programs, setting objectives, assigning work, and managing delivery timelines Identify technical gaps and implement corrective solutions with a clear, documented rationale Communicate technical findings and program status clearly across all organizational levels Minimum Requirements Bachelor of Science in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with a focus in structural analysis 8 or more years of professional experience in primary airframe structural analysis Demonstrated track record analyzing both composite and metallic aircraft structures Expert-level command of finite element methods and classical stress analysis techniques Hands-on applied experience with fatigue and damage tolerance principles in an aviation context Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Ideal Qualifications Practical experience with NASTRAN and FEMAP for structural modeling and simulation Proficiency with CAD platforms, particularly SolidWorks or equivalent tools Established record of leadership in structural validation programs and engineering mentorship Demonstrated ability to prepare analysis packages for formal airworthiness certification and technical sign-off Experience originating novel structural concepts and shepherding them from development into a production environment Elevate Your Career Apply for this Airframe Structural Engineer position and let Rio Staffing represent you to our network of leading aviation and aerospace clients.
