Salary or hourly Reports to: Director of Development Summary/Objective The Construction Project Engineer at Tributary will support the Director of Development in all aspects of the construction lifecycle for both horizontal land development and vertical construction efforts. This position will participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, Inspections, implementation, sign offs, and completion. Essential Functions Review land development regulations and plans, monitoring and supporting the approval process. Support Pre-construction efforts, coordination activities, and scheduling. Interprets drawings and specifications. Control any number of construction related projects at various stages of work. Conduct on-site observation of work during construction to monitor the project schedule and compliance with plans and specifications. Complete inspections and signoffs from both Civil Engineer, City officials and required authorities as needed. Review project designs and plans using computer-assisted design software and equipment as needed. Create and track construction schedules as needed in collaboration with key stakeholders. Monitor construction schedule progress, identify delays, forecast, and track long lead time materials and deliverables. Report on daily progress, delays, and any potential safety issues. Utilize project management software and maintain the project as the assistant administrator as needed. Marginal Functions Research suppliers and materials as needed. Make shop/field visits to ensure products are built to specification as needed. No formal oversight of construction personnel. Work Environment The position operates both indoors in an office environment and outdoors in construction areas. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The possibility of tripping, slipping, falling and injury could occur. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less. The position requires manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills, and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures. It will be expected that the hours and days are worked as necessary to ensure projects remain on schedule. Must have the ability to work weekends, holidays, days, and nights with flexible hours. The schedule is subject to change, and applicants must be flexible with schedule adjustments. Estimated average of 40 to 45 hours a week. Travel Some light driving travel is expected for this position. Required or preferred Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in architecture or construction science/construction management or a minimum of one-two years of related experience in residential and/or institutional projects is preferred. Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, land planning, or construction management. Additional Eligibility Qualifications Working knowledge of construction documents (plans and specifications). Must have a valid driver's license. Must speak English fluently and possess the ability to speak professionally to members, guests, and all departments. Work Authorization Must have valid work authorization to work in the United States for I-9 form purposes.
