  • Construction & RelatedEngineering Program.
ICP is an extended-day, career technical education program that serves students from acrosscomprehensive high schools in Worcester Public Schools. The program is committed to preparing students forcareers in in-demand industries by building relevant career skills, earning industry recognized credentials anddeveloping a clear post-secondary plan for after high school.

This position is a teaching position for the technical class the students take in the afternoons at Worcester TechnicalHigh School. The successful applicant will assume the responsibility for delivering high-quality instructionalexperiences in accordance with the CVTE curriculum frameworks and other objectives identified as programoutcomes, as well as the rules and regulations of the Worcester Public Schools. Additionally, applicants should becomfortable exposing students to the many career options that exist within their selected field of study. Thesuccessful applicant must have work-experience in the technical field and will instruct with rigor using creativity,resourcefulness, perseverance, empathy, and sound judgment.

This technical teaching position is in the Construction program and aligns with standards from the CVTE Carpentry,Drafting, and Engineering Technology frameworks. This position is for teaching the year one students and willintroduce students to the basics construction, commercial building construction and engineering, blueprint reading,Computer-Aided Drafting and Design, and related skills. The ideal candidate will also introduce the students throughhands-on learning projects that prepare students for the construction field.

Dates/times/schedule:
The technical course will be delivered two days per week 2:30pm-5:15pm (come combination of Tuesday,Wednesday, and Thursday) from November 10, 2026 through March 25, 2027Meeting dates prior to November 2 for planning will be required. Additional days will be scheduled for snow days/cancellations. Staff members are expected to attend monthly team meeting 1 hour per month
  • typically 2nd Monday of themonth 2:15pm-3:15pmQualified candidates will hold a vocational teacher license or be licensable through DESE in Environmental Science & Technology, Electricity, HVAC-R or a vocational technical DESE certification in a related field.
This license requires 4-5 years of industry experience and candidates who are not yet licensed but are pursuing certification will need to provide evidence of this requirement.

In accordance with the Unit A CBA. The pay is $70/hour for Instructional Hours and $45/hour for Non-Instructional Hours. Citizenship, residency or work visa required
