Water & Environmental Technologies (WET) is seeking a motivated Civil Engineer Intern to join our team for Summer 2027 at our Great Falls, Montana office. This internship gives you the opportunity to put classroom knowledge into practice while working alongside experienced engineers and technical professionals. You'll contribute to real consulting projects, gain hands-on field experience, and develop practical skills that will help prepare you for a career in engineering consulting. What You'll Do As a Civil Engineer Intern, you'll support a variety of consulting projects throughout the Rocky Mountain region. The position will include a combination of field and office work, providing opportunities to apply engineering principles, learn from experienced professionals, and gain exposure to the day-to-day work of a consulting engineer. Some overnight travel will likely be required. Depending on project needs and your experience level, you will have opportunities to learn and assist with: Assisting with the design and development of civil engineering projects. Supporting preparation of plans, specifications, technical reports, and permit applications. Performing field inspections, site assessments, and construction observations. Collecting and documenting field data and measurements. Assisting with surveying, site layout, and other field activities. Performing engineering calculations and data analysis. Assisting with preparation of construction cost estimates and quantity takeoffs. Using engineering software and computer-aided design (CAD) programs. Reviewing plans, specifications, and technical documents. Participating in project meetings and working with project managers and other technical staff. Traveling to project sites throughout Montana and the surrounding Rocky Mountain region, as needed. What We're Looking For Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering or related engineering program at an accredited college or university. Completed coursework in civil engineering fundamentals. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to learn new software, technical processes, and procedures. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites. Previous internship, field, or engineering-related experience is preferred but not required. Why WET?
