Job Description Summary:
Serves as Project Construction Field Superintendent to effectively coordinate construction activities. Maintains direct daily contact with contractor representatives, foreman, and hospital staff affected by construction.Job Description:
Essential Functions:
Assists Construction Manager in developing and implementing construction procedures, construction documents, standards, etc. Collaborates to create job schedules and ensure ongoing compliance during construction phase of projects. Reviews manpower requirements and productivity relative to meeting current job progress schedules, follow-up for timely delivery of materials to meet established schedules. Produces daily logs of projects. Assures compliance with hospital policies related to or impacted by construction activities. Coordinates project work with hospital operations to effectively maintain job progress, negotiates the impact of construction, and promotes safety in occupied areas. Performs jobsite inspections to assure code compliance and quality control using project specifications, drawings, and applicable codes. Creates lists to correct deficient work. Researches and coordinates hospital MEP system outages and tie-ins. Assists with coordination of utility outages or shutdowns to ensure that there are no disruptions to critical care functions. Manages and ensures successful sign off on City or State inspections for all phases of construction.Education Requirement:
Associate's Degree in related construction field, or equivalent work experience, required.Skills:
Excellent customer services skills and client-relationship development skills. Leadership skills and an ability to work as part of a team. Excellent communication, organizational, and supervisory skills. Ability to read and understand blueprints and construction schedules. Working knowledge of contract documents, drawings and specifications, change procedures, construction and engineering principles.Experience:
Eight years of building construction experience, or equivalent education, required.Physical Requirements:
