RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Construction Engineer in Piketon, Ohio. This is a full-time, direct-hire assignment with our client. This position offers a competitive base salary, is bonus eligible, and includes a comprehensive benefits package with vacation and holidays. Overview of YOUR Role as a Construction Engineer In this role, you will plan and control field execution of facility modifications and new installations at a DOE-contracted energy facility operating within a highly regulated, safety-critical environment. Serving as the construction engineering point of contact for plant infrastructure work, you will bridge Design Engineering, Operations, and third-party construction contractors — translating design outputs into executable work packages and driving projects from field execution through clean, compliant handover. This is a technically demanding role for an engineer who is equally comfortable in the field and at the project table. As a
Construction Engineer, YOU Will:
Serve as the construction engineering point of contact for plant infrastructure work, acting as Site Technical Representative during field activities and coordinating daily interface between Design Engineering, Operations, and third-party construction contractors. Translate design outputs into executable work packages, including permits, procedures, ITPs/hold points, and acceptance criteria; author RFIs/RFCs, manage redlines, and drive as-built documentation to maintain configuration control. Support or lead construction scopes administered via EPC and specialty contractors — monitor cost, schedule, and performance; enforce contract requirements; and manage change orders and progress verification. Ensure field execution aligns with applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, OSHA, IEEE), site procedures, and the facility's licensing and regulatory framework. Champion industrial and electrical safety (LO/TO, arc-flash controls) and nuclear quality expectations during pre-job briefs, hazard analyses, and audits; verify contractor compliance and drive immediate corrective action for deficiencies. Plan and witness construction tests, ensure punch-list completion, and coordinate functional testing and energization with operations to achieve Ready-for-Operations and clean handover packages. Provide clear field status, risk assessments, and mitigation plans to project managers and site leadership; coordinate with DOE and utility stakeholders as needed for power or site services. Capture lessons learned and propose procedural or design feedback to reduce rework and improve constructability on future project scopes. YOU Are the
Ideal Construction Engineer Candidate If You Have:

Hands-on experience with work-package development, QA/QC inspections, welding/mechanical/electrical installation oversight, and startup/commissioning support. Familiarity with RFIs, NCRs, ITPs, and as-built control in a regulated construction environment. Demonstrated collaboration with EPCs and vendors, including experience with progress tracking, change control, and field estimating. Practical application of
