Job Description
Project Engineer Position Summary We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Project Engineer to support commercial flooring projects from award through closeout. This role coordinates submittals, material procurement, schedules, documentation, and communication between project managers, field teams, vendors, and customers. The ideal candidate is proactive, comfortable reading construction documents, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Review contracts, plans, specifications, finish schedules, and project requirements. Prepare and track product data, samples, shop drawings, LEED documentation, and other submittals. Coordinate material selections, quantities, purchase orders, lead times, deliveries, and site logistics. Maintain project logs for RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and closeout documents. Work with project managers to develop budgets, schedules, forecasts, and progress reports. Communicate with general contractors, architects, vendors, manufacturers, installers, and internal teams. Attend project meetings and document decisions, assignments, and deadlines. Monitor project scope and help identify changes, conflicts, risks, and cost impacts. Verify field conditions, site readiness, measurements, moisture-testing requirements, and installation sequencing. Support labor planning, quality control, safety compliance, punch-list completion, and project closeout. Assist with pricing, proposals, change-order documentation, and billing support as needed. Qualifications [1-3] years of construction or project-coordination experience preferred; commercial flooring experience is a plus. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, finish schedules, and contract documents. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Quickbooks, Procore, Bluebeam, RFMS, MeasureSquare, or similar software is a plus. Valid driver's license Knowledge of flooring products, adhesives, moisture mitigation, floor preparation, and installation methods is helpful. What We Offer Competitive salary & benefits.
