Principal Civil Project Engineer Posted on May 12, 2025 May 12, 2025 by JMJ Phillip We are seeking a seasoned Principal Civil Project Engineer to lead and manage complex infrastructure and site development projects. The ideal candidate will bring a depth of civil engineering expertise, strong project management skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This role requires a strategic thinker with the ability to guide teams, manage stakeholders, and ensure successful project delivery from conception to completion. Position Responsibilities Project Leadership Lead civil engineering design efforts across a variety of projects including infrastructure, utilities, and land development. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors throughout all phases of project execution. Technical Oversight Oversee preparation of engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, and design reports. Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations. Team Management Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff to promote professional development and high-quality deliverables. Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure project milestones and budgets are met. Client Relations Foster and maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication, timely deliverables, and a commitment to quality. Prerequisites Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering with progressive leadership responsibility. Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar platforms. Strong understanding of municipal and private sector project processes. Certifications (Preferred, but not Required) Professional Engineer (P.E.) license. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
