Your key duties To give you an idea of how this role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do: Carry out structural, thermal and energy modeling of building enclosure details and systemsUtilize advanced analysis programs and techniques to understand building enclosure performance and façade designLearn the principles of enclosure detailing including all 6 sides of the building enclosureLearn the principles of writing technical specifications for all aspects of the building enclosureUndertake engineering calculations with various materials, including structural glass, aluminum, stainless steel, wood, stone, and precast concretePerform technical reviews of shop drawings and construction administration submittals to ensure air, water, thermal, seismic, acoustic, and structural performance Deliver work in a timely and technically competent mannerParticipate in site visits to projects and prepare site observation reportsYour skills and experience Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related science or engineering disciplineCoursework in façade materials and assemblies, façade engineering, building envelope physics, and/or thermal modeling skills beneficial3D modeling skills (Rhino, Revit, Grasshopper, SketchUp, AutoCAD, etc) preferredInterest in the façade industry with emphasis on detailing and engineeringGood sketching skillsInternship experience in façade or engineering beneficialAbility to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible mannerEagerness to learn and work as part of a multidisciplinary teamCandidates are encouraged to apply even if they don't meet all requirements What we offerSalary range of $80,000 to $83,000.
