Job Description

Overview We are seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in North Carolina to join our team as a Structural Engineer. This role involves applying structural engineering practices to develop, analyze, and review structural designs for various projects, ensuring compliance with building codes and standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with residential and modular construction, foundations, steel framing, concrete foundations, and North Carolina building code requirements. The Structural Engineer will be responsible for reviewing preliminary calculations and foundation drawings, verifying or revising designs as necessary, and preparing permit-ready structural documents that are sealed and compliant with local regulations. Duties Apply structural engineering practices to develop accurate and efficient structural designs for residential and modular construction projects. Conduct structural analysis utilizing appropriate tools to evaluate the integrity and safety of building components. Review existing preliminary structural calculations and foundation drawings to verify accuracy or identify necessary revisions. Prepare, review, and seal permit-ready structural plans and calculations in accordance with North Carolina building codes. Design steel structures, including steel framing and connections, ensuring they meet project specifications and safety standards. Develop concrete structural designs such as footings and foundations that support building stability. Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes and standards specific to North Carolina. Utilize CAD software for drafting detailed structural drawings and documentation. Communicate effectively with clients to clarify project requirements, explain design concepts, and address concerns related to structural integrity. Experience Current licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) in North Carolina with authority to prepare and seal structural plans and calculations. Proven experience in residential or modular construction projects, including foundations, steel framing, concrete footings/foundations, and connections. Strong knowledge of structural analysis tools and CAD software used in the industry. Familiarity with North Carolina building codes and regulations related to structural design. Experience reviewing preliminary calculations and foundation drawings; ability to verify or revise designs accordingly. Excellent communication skills for client interaction and collaboration with project teams. Pay:
$100.00 - $150.00 per hour Expected hours: 10.0 - 30.0 per week
