Structural Engineer - Remote / Field LB Engineering | Full-time | 100% Remote + Field Work | West Palm Beach & surrounding area US candidates only. Position Overview LB Engineering is seeking a Structural Engineer who is currently licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Florida. An active Florida PE license is required for this position. Candidates who are not currently licensed as a PE in Florida will not be considered. This is a 100% remote position with a mix of home-office engineering work and field work. There is no required daily company office location. We are looking for candidates located in or around West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Jupiter, Lake Worth Beach, Boynton Beach, Delray Beach, Boca Raton, or neighboring South Florida communities who can perform field inspections and site visits as needed throughout Palm Beach County and surrounding areas. Engineers at all experience levels are encouraged to apply, from newly licensed Florida PEs to seasoned project leaders. You will be joining and helping shape a rapidly growing engineering company. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who meets deadlines, manages multiple projects, communicates well, and is comfortable working independently. Responsibilities Design and analyze structures across a wide range of project types, including single-family residential, multifamily, high-rise buildings, schools, hospitals, jails, apartment buildings, and other commercial and institutional projects Perform structural inspections and site visits throughout Palm Beach County and surrounding South Florida areas Prepare field reports, structural calculations, drawings, and construction documents Lead projects independently or with senior support, depending on experience Serve as Engineer of Record and sign and seal deliverables, with responsibility scaled to experience level Coordinate with architects, contractors, owners, and internal teams Participate in client, architect, and contractor calls and represent the firm professionally Perform quality control and follow internal design standards Maintain awareness of project scope, schedules, and budgets For experienced candidates, provide redlines and technical direction and mentor drafters, EITs, and junior engineers Ensure compliance with the Florida Building Code and applicable structural design standards Requirements Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Florida - REQUIRED Structural engineering experience Located in or near West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Jupiter, Lake Worth Beach, Boynton Beach, Delray Beach, Boca Raton, or surrounding South Florida areas Ability and willingness to travel locally for field inspections and site visits Reliable transportation for field work Reliable home-office workspace Clear communication with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams Organized, detail-oriented, and accountable Self-starter who can manage projects and responsibilities without constant oversight This Role Is 100% remote with field work No required daily company office location A combination of engineering/design work from home and in-person field inspections Open only to engineers currently licensed as a PE in Florida Open to newly licensed PEs through senior-level structural engineers Focused primarily on West Palm Beach, Palm Beach County, and surrounding South Florida markets Compensation and Growth Competitive compensation based on experience Opportunity for long-term growth and leadership responsibility within a rapidly growing company Stable workload across diverse project types Opportunity to take ownership of projects and help grow LB Engineering's presence throughout
