Job Description

Position:
Structural Engineer/Project Manager Position Summary:
  • A project manager/structural engineer with 15 to 20 years experience in building design, including preparation of construction documents, and construction administration.
  • Our projects utilize a wide variety of materials including structural steel, cast-in-place and precast concrete, masonry, heavy timber, conventional framed wood and cold formed steel. Working knowledge in most of these is preferred.
  • Candidate will be responsible for the design and analysis aspects of a project, calculations, contract documents, performing site visits and submittal review as well as evaluating existing structures and preparing reports.
  • Candidate will participate in marketing, strategic planning and proposal preparation support.
Qualifications:
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in new construction, renovation/restoration and adaptive-reuse.
  • 15 to 20 years experience in building design, including preparation of construction documents, and construction administration.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in civil or structural engineering or architecture with an emphasis in structures from an ABET accredited university.
  • Licensed Structural Engineer in the State of Illinois.
  • Candidate should possess an attention to detail, balanced with an understanding of time and project budgets.
  • Candidate will represent the company to clients.
Candidate should have strong communication skills, be self motivated and a client oriented team player. Good technical writing skills are important. Excellent interpersonal skills are required as candidate will work directly with clients. Literate in typical structural design and analysis software including Finite Element. Proficiency in Revit preferred.
