Use professional CAD and transportation-design software to develop accurate, high-quality project deliverables. Coordinate technical work with Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, Survey, Environmental, Traffic, and other project disciplines. Support coordination with PennDOT, municipalities, utilities, clients, and other project stakeholders. Participate in field investigations and construction-phase engineering activities. Perform technical and QA/QC reviews of project deliverables and incorporate review comments into final documents. Identify technical questions, project risks, and constructability concerns and work with project team members to develop practical solutions. Support project schedules, budgets, scopes, deliverables, resource coordination, proposals, and estimates as experience develops. Communicate regularly with project managers and team members regarding project status, priorities, assignments, and deadlines. Additional Responsibilities for Experienced Candidates Candidates with more advanced experience may have the opportunity to: Independently lead roadway engineering assignments and major project components. Apply engineering judgment to evaluate alternatives and resolve complex roadway design and constructability challenges. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to developing Engineers and Designers. Review engineering plans, calculations, specifications, reports, estimates, and other technical deliverables. Take greater ownership of project scope, schedule, budget, and resource coordination. Participate in client and agency coordination and help support project delivery decisions. Assist with developing scopes of work, technical approaches, proposals, and project estimates. Ability to interpret and apply engineering standards and project requirements. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary project team. Ability to manage multiple assignments, priorities, and deadlines. Candidates who are authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) license or demonstrated progress toward PE licensure. Experience with OpenRoads Designer and/or MicroStation . Construction-phase engineering experience. Technical or QA/QC review experience. Experience providing technical guidance or mentoring developing Engineers or Designers. Experience supporting project schedules, budgets, scopes, proposals, or estimates. Experience coordinating directly with PennDOT, municipalities, utilities, clients, or other agencies . Professional Growth This position provides an opportunity to strengthen the roadway-design expertise you already have while gaining exposure to additional areas of transportation project delivery. As your capabilities develop, you can take on increasing technical ownership, work on more complex transportation projects, mentor developing professionals, and progress toward future technical or project-leadership opportunities.
