Tesla's Refining Technology Team is responsible for the implementation of production processes at never-before-seen scale. At Tesla, Project Engineers are responsible for overall project success through both management of direct work, but also mitigation of project risks. You will be accountable for ensuring that the specific area of the project that you are responsible for achieves its goals in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner. What You'll Do
Drive projects from concept through commissioning and handover to operations, serving as the single point of contact for all stakeholders
Define and drive schedule for basic engineering and ensure proper reviews are taking place by the proper stakeholders. Define ties of basic engineering deliverables to detailed design kick-offs, understanding how to accelerate the program as a whole
Identify project risks and dependencies, manage and reduce them accordingly. Develop and maintain a risk register with weekly updates to leadership
Working across cross-functional teams, build and maintain strong relationships that create strong open flow of information in efficient, transparent ways
Facilitate and support design review sessions with key stakeholders. Consolidate notes, questions, and follow-up actions. Track actions to closure
Serve as the primary point of contact with raw material supply chain
Lead the preparation of CAPEX funding requests with the supporting business cases What You'll Bring
Degree or equivalent experience in Chemical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering
2-8 years' experience in engineering project management within process industries (e.g. refining, oil & gas, industrials gases, specialty chemicals, or solar materials)
Demonstrated experience managing capital projects from concept to commissioning
Working knowledge of stage-gate project delivery processes
Ability to effectively execute many projects and tasks in parallel
Demonstrated experience creating, maintaining, and communicating schedules
Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organization skills
Ability to work cross functionally with engineering, construction, operations, and supply chain
Excellent communication and documentation skills with ability to understand complex problems and summarize in a simple way to a wide audience Compensation and Benefits
