Job Description
Senior Project Engineer - Commercial Construction Overview A well-established commercial general contractor is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join their growing team and support a diverse portfolio of projects, including retail centers, creative office spaces, ground-up construction, remodels, and tenant improvements . This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive construction professional looking to take on greater responsibility while working closely with experienced Project Managers and field leadership. Key Responsibilities Support Project Managers and Superintendents with day-to-day project coordination and documentation Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project logs Assist with budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and schedule updates Coordinate with subcontractors, architects, engineers, and consultants to maintain project progress Review construction drawings and specifications to confirm scope, requirements, and project alignment Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure compliance with contract requirements Participate in project meetings and assist with meeting minutes, reporting, and follow-up Support multiple commercial projects from ground-up construction through renovation and tenant improvement Qualifications 4-8+ years of commercial construction experience , preferably in a Project Engineer or similar capacity Experience with retail, office, tenant improvement, or renovation projects preferred Strong organizational, communication, and follow-through skills Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working collaboratively with both office and field teams Why This Opportunity Join a respected commercial general contractor with a strong project pipeline Work on a diverse mix of ground-up, renovation, retail, office, and tenant improvement projects Collaborative, team-oriented environment with opportunities for professional development Clear career path toward Project Manager Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package
