Job Title:
Mechanical Analyst Job Description We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Analyst to perform airframe stress analysis using common aerospace industry methods and textbooks such as Bruhn, Niu, Roark, and Flabel. The role involves utilizing FEMAP with NX Nastran, coupled with classical hand calculations, to efficiently analyze metallic and composite structures. You will assist designers in developing efficient lightweight designs using proper load paths, utilize FARO Scan Arm for reverse engineering data collection, and review and approve 3D engineering drawings. Responsibilities Conduct airframe stress analysis using industry-standard methods and textbooks. Utilize FEMAP with NX Nastran and classical hand calculations for structural analysis. Assist in the development of efficient lightweight designs with appropriate load paths. Collect data for reverse engineering using FARO Scan Arm. Review and approve detailed 3D engineering drawings. Essential Skills Proficiency in 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD). Expertise in structural analysis and airworthiness substantiation. Strong ability to balance forces and develop free body diagrams. Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) modeling software such as FEMAP, NASTRAN, PATRAN, and ABAQUS. General knowledge of aerospace fabrication practices, tolerances, and design standards. Effective time management and project management skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge of aerospace drafting standards and tolerance stack-up analysis. Understanding of aerospace surface treatments and metallurgy. Experience with DOD and/or FAA program structural and environmental load requirements. Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year accredited institution with 2-4 years of applicable engineering experience in Aerospace, Mechanical, or a related field, or a minimum of 8 years of applicable engineering experience in lieu of a degree. Work Environment You will be part of a mechanical engineering team consisting of approximately 20 engineers. The operation includes a separate 145-person repair and fabrication shop, providing exposure to full-cycle manufacturing and opportunities for growth and development. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
