Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Early-Career Civil Engineer as part of our site civil services team within our Infrastructure Engineering Services group in our Richmond, Virginia office. The position will have the opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world situations while also learning the business skills needed for a successful consulting career. We welcome applications from recent graduates and students completing their degree requirements in December 2026 who are available to begin full-time employment in January 2027. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform hydrologic & hydraulic analysis; Perform stormwater modeling; Develop grading and drainage plans; Prepare erosion and sediment control designs; Develop construction drawings, details, and specifications; Develop permit applications for state and local regulatory body review; Review state and federal regulations & permits pertaining to surface water; and Prepare technical reports and stormwater pollution prevention plans. Driving personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed. Education and Licensure Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering. (required) Advanced degree in environmental or civil engineering. (preferred)
Professional Engineer Licensure:
Geosyntec's culture is one in which successful staff pursue career development and professional licensure. You should plan to pursue your Engineer-in-Training license and your Professional Engineer license. Skills, Experience and Qualifications Prior internship experience in civil consulting. (preferred) Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D. (preferred) Proficiency in HydroCAD. (preferred) Proficiency with site grading and drainage concepts/designs. (preferred) Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required) This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified location(s) below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec's total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.
Minimum Salary:
$67,165 /year /
Maximum Salary:
$83,955 /year ( Richmond, VA ) We offer a comprehensive benefits package including, paid holidays, vacation, sick, and personal paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, 401(k), and other benefits to eligible employees.
