Position Overview:

NRW Engineering is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our established team of engineering professionals. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of structural engineering projects, from new construction and building renovations to structural assessments, repairs, and facility improvements. The successful candidate will work on projects from initial planning and field investigation through final design and construction documentation, contributing directly to the successful delivery of projects for public and private sector clients. This position provides the opportunity to apply engineering judgment, expand technical expertise, interact with clients and project stakeholders, and assume increasing levels of project responsibility as experience and capabilities grow.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform structural analysis and design for new construction, renovation, repair, and assessment projects. Develop structural calculations, construction documents, specifications, and technical details in accordance with applicable building codes and industry standards. Conduct structural investigations, field evaluations, and condition assessments of existing facilities and structures. Prepare engineering reports, technical memorandums, and assessment documentation. Coordinate project requirements with clients, project managers, architects, and other design professionals. Utilize structural analysis and design software to evaluate and design structural systems and components. Support the preparation and delivery of biddable construction documents and engineering deliverables. Participate in construction administration activities, including responding to contractor questions and reviewing submittals, shop drawings, and field conditions as required. Manage multiple project assignments while maintaining quality, accuracy, and attention to detail. Contribute to a collaborative team environment and support the successful delivery of engineering projects.

Education, Qualifications, and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering 1 to 6+ years of experience in structural engineering design, evaluation, and construction document development. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required for early-career candidates; Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or active pursuit of licensure is preferred. Experience performing structural analysis and design using industry-standard software such as RAM Structural System, RISA-3D, ENERCALC, or similar programs. Proficiency with Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD. Experience designing structural systems for new construction, renovation, repair, and assessment projects. Strong understanding of applicable building codes, design standards, and engineering principles. Ability to prepare structural calculations, engineering reports, technical memorandums, and construction documents. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with clients, project stakeholders, and multidisciplinary project teams. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple project assignments simultaneously. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required. Ability to obtain and maintain credentials required to access Department of Defense installations.
