General Summary:
Alta Environmental & Infrastructure is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineering Field Technician to support a wide variety of civil engineering and construction projects throughout Arizona. The Civil Engineering Field Technician serves as the eyes and ears of the project team in the field by performing site inspections, collecting field data, documenting construction progress, and assisting engineers and project managers in ensuring projects are completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, and applicable standards. This position combines field observation, technical documentation, and collaboration with contractors, clients, and engineering staff. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, solving problems, and contributing to projects that improve the communities we serve.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct on-site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications, regulations, and quality standards. Monitor construction activities, identifying and addressing potential issues to ensure project success. Utilize advanced field testing and equipment to collect data related to soil properties, materials, and construction processes. Analyze collected data and prepare detailed reports for project managers and clients. Implement and enforce quality control measures to guarantee the highest standards in construction and engineering practices. Collaborate with project teams to address and resolve any quality concerns promptly. Promote and enforce safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment for all personnel on-site. Identify potential safety hazards and work with the project team to implement corrective measures. Maintain clear and effective communication with project teams, contractors, and cilents. Document field activities, prepare concise reports, and communicate findings to the project manager and other relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Associates degree in civil engineering or related field. 2+ years experience in Civil engineering or construction-related fieldwork. Proficiency in using field testing equipment and data collection tools. Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes. Ability to interpret engineering plans and specifications.
