Architectural Lighting Designer - RevitWe are a creative, design-driven lighting manufacturer focused on high-performance architectural solutions that bring spaces to life. Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Architectural Lighting Designer with strong Revit skills to join our interdisciplinary design team. The role focuses on developing creative, code-compliant lighting solutions for interior and architectural projects, producing coordinated Revit lighting models, preparing construction documentation and specifications, and collaborating closely with architects, interior designers, engineers, and clients to realize design intent from concept through installation.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop lighting concepts and schematic designs that support architectural and interior design goals while meeting performance, energy and code requirements.
Build and maintain detailed Revit lighting models, families and schedules; coordinate lighting components and parameters within project BIM standards.
Prepare photometric analyses, layout plans, fixture schedules, control diagrams, and construction-ready documentation for bidding and installation.
Create product specifications, evaluate fixtures and controls for aesthetic, technical and budgetary fit, and manage substitutions.
Perform lighting calculations using AGi32, DIALux or equivalent software and review manufacturer photometrics (IES files).Coordinate with architects, interior designers, electrical engineers and contractors to resolve clashes and ensure seamless integration of lighting and building systems.
Support site visits, commissioning, and punch-list activities to verify installation and performance meet design intent.
Produce client presentations, mood boards and renderings to communicate design approaches and drive design approvals.
Maintain project documentation, adhere to BIM standards and ensure quality assurance on lighting deliverables.
QualificationsBachelors degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, Interior Design, Electrical Engineering or related field.3+ years of professional experience in architectural or interior lighting design, including work within Revit.
Proven expertise in Revit for lighting: model creation, families, parameters, scheduling and coordination in a BIM environment.
Hands-on experience with photometric analysis tools such as AGi32 or DIALux and familiarity with IES file workflows.
Strong understanding of lighting control strategies, energy codes, and industry standards (IES, local energy codes).Portfolio demonstrating a range of interior and architectural lighting projects with clear documentation of Revit work and photometric results.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present to clients and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
Certifications preferred: NCIDQ (or NCDIQ as noted), Certified Interior Designer (CID) or other relevant credentials.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
