Position Overview AKIVA is seeking a Drafter to support the VA Long Beach Healthcare System Engineering Service Projects Section, reporting to the Chief of Projects & Construction Management. The Drafter supports and assists the contracted Architect with site documentation of campus buildings and utilities in AutoCAD, Revit, and ZLink formats, and assists with the drawing updates required as moves and minor construction are completed. Key Responsibilities Assist the contracted Architect and the VA Architect in creating and executing drafting services for varied spaces throughout the campus, including plans, reflected ceiling plans, and elevations in AutoCAD, Revit, and other visual software including ZLink Prepare detailed AutoCAD and Revit designs, plans, sketches, perspectives, color schemes, and visual aids for design presentations Analyze architectural drawings and develop AutoCAD and Revit FF&E layers reflecting building codes, major equipment, materials, placeholder furnishings, and traffic patterns Interpret and review provided architectural plans for concurrence with the VA TIL, standards, and specifications Maintain the Drawing Room and associated plans and project binders; assist in the management and updates of all drawing documentation maintained in AutoCAD, Revit, and ZLink Review existing drawings for incomplete or inaccurate information; raise concerns to the contracted Architect and document resolutions Document completed moves and minor construction in AutoCAD and Revit by coordinating with Interior Design staff and contracted movers Follow working knowledge of

Barrier Free Design Guide, VA TIL, ICC, OSHA, IFC, and Life Safety Coordinate with Contracting, Logistics, EMS, OI&T, Material Management, end users, and Engineering to maintain the documentation schedule and report to the Chief of Projects and Construction Management Required Qualifications Minimum five (5) years of commercial drafting experience Associate's degree in engineering drafting or a bachelor's degree Knowledge of healthcare design and understanding of fire codes, life safety codes, building codes, barrier-free design, systems, cleaning and maintenance concepts, ergonomics, and safety criteria Ability to review and interpret blueprints and specifications; drafting assignments require comprehension of the detailed characteristics of the item being designed Skilled in free-form drawing and drawing to scale on a job site 3 years of AutoCAD, 3 years of Revit, and 1 year of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) experience Effective written and verbal communication with contractors, management officials, vendors, Contracting Officers, and VA Long Beach staff Must be authorized to work in the United States Preferred Qualifications Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accreditation Experience with the selection, specification, procurement, and placement of furnishings Experience with
