Architectural Drafter Intern Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Architectural Drafter Intern to join our design team. The successful candidate will assist in creating detailed construction drawings, developing design concepts, and supporting project documentation. This role is ideal for those looking to build a foundation in architecture with a focus on technical drafting skills and construction understanding. Responsibilities Assist in preparing accurate architectural drawings and construction documents using industry-standard software, including Google SketchUp. Support senior architects and designers in developing design concepts and visualizations. Contribute to the creation of detailed plans, elevations, sections, and details for various projects. Incorporate construction experience into drafting tasks to ensure designs are feasible and compliant with building standards. Collaborate with team members to review drawings for accuracy, clarity, and completeness. Update and modify existing drawings based on project revisions or client feedback. Maintain organized digital files of project documentation and drawings. Participate in team meetings to discuss project progress, challenges, and solutions. Experience Currently enrolled in an architecture, drafting, or related program at an accredited institution. Construction experience is preferred to better understand building processes and requirements. Proficiency in Google SketchUp is required; familiarity with other CAD software is a plus. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions accurately. Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
