Showroom Tile Designer Job Overview:

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in facilitating creative, beautiful and functional spaces. This candidate will have a passion for design, an eye for detail, and an in-depth knowledge of tile materials and trends. As a Tile Designer, you will assist designers, builders, contractors and homeowners in selecting tiles that complement their spaces, providing expert advice on design layouts, styles, and finishes. Additionally, the tile designer will ensure excellent customer service, manage client relationships and help drive showroom sales.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Consultation & Design :
Meet with customers to understand their design preferences, needs, and project specifications. Create tile layouts and offer design solutions tailored to their style, budget, and project scope.
Product Knowledge & Selection :
Maintain in-depth knowledge of the showroom's tile products, including materials, sizes, finishes, colors, and patterns. Advise customers on tile options that best suit their project requirements.
Sales Support :
Assist with tile sales by effectively communicating product benefits, pricing, and promotions to customers. Work closely with the sales team to convert leads into successful sales.
Trend Awareness :
Stay current on industry trends, new tile products, and innovative design techniques. Incorporate trending styles into your designs and provide fresh ideas for customers.
Customer Service :
Provide exceptional customer service, including follow-ups and post-purchase support, to ensure customer satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
Showroom Presentation :
Assist in maintaining a visually appealing and organized showroom display. Rotate product samples and maintain clean, tidy, and attractive displays to attract customer attention.
Administrative Support :
Assist in managing inventory in the sample room and ordering samples based on customer demand and project needs. Maintain accurate records of customer preferences, designs, and sales.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in tile design, interior design, or a related field. Strong understanding of tile materials, patterns, and layout techniques. Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach. Creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about design. Knowledge of current tile and interior design trends. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced showroom environment. Experience in sales or retail is a plus.
Working Conditions:
Full-time position- 40+ hours per week. Ability to be on your feet for the working day Physical ability to move and arrange tile samples or displays in the showroom. Retail hours; Monday through Saturday the showroom is open 9 am to 5 pm (one adjustable day off per week) Face to Face interactions with multiples customers a day.
