Job Description

Beyer Blinder Belle is seeking an enthusiastic Intermediate Architectural Designer to join our Washington, DC office. The successful candidate will contribute to meaningful civic, cultural, institutional, and mixed-use projects involving new construction, historic preservation, and adaptive reuse. We are looking for a collaborative designer with strong design, visualization, and technical skills who is comfortable contributing across multiple project phases. Experience working with existing buildings and complex renovation conditions is strongly preferred. BBB has offices in New York City, Boston, Washington, DC, and Miami. Responsibilities Support projects from conceptual design through construction administration. Develop design studies, presentation materials, renderings, and architectural visualizations. Produce and coordinate architectural drawings and documentation in Revit. Assist with the documentation and evaluation of existing building conditions. Coordinate architectural work with consultants and internal project teams. Contribute to collaborative design and production workflows. Manage assigned tasks and deadlines while communicating proactively with project managers and team members. Participate in project meetings, reviews, and presentations. Provide technical guidance to junior team members when appropriate. Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Approximately 3-5 years of professional architectural experience. Licensure or active pursuit of architectural licensure preferred. Strong proficiency in Revit required. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite required. Strong architectural visualization and graphic presentation skills. Experience with Enscape, Rhino, or comparable visualization and modeling tools strongly preferred. Experience with existing buildings, historic preservation, renovation, or adaptive reuse strongly preferred. Familiarity with MEP coordination, particularly within existing-building conditions, is a plus. Ability to evaluate and apply appropriate architectural design and technical solutions with guidance from senior team members. Strong verbal, written, graphic, organizational, and time-management skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Compensation BBB offers fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $75,000-$90,000, with variations based on experience, education, achievements, and business needs.
