Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Selection Designer to join our restoration contracting team. In this role, you will help develop innovative material and product selections that enhance restoration projects while meeting aesthetic, functional, and building code standards. Your expertise will drive the visual and technical quality of our projects, from initial concept through final implementation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with talented professionals on residential interior design projects, renovation initiatives, and complex restoration efforts. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in CAD software, 3D modeling, and building information modeling (BIM) tools, coupled with a passion for craftsmanship and design excellence. Responsibilities Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and clients to understand project goals and develop tailored selection strategies for restoration projects. Create detailed construction documentation, including drawings and specifications, aligned with building codes and client expectations. Utilize software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino (Rhinoceros 3D), and 3ds Max to develop accurate 3D models and renderings that visualize design concepts effectively. Prepare comprehensive presentation materials using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and other graphic design software to communicate design intent clearly. Conduct building code analysis to ensure all selections comply with local regulations and safety standards. Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, maintaining timelines and budgets while coordinating with contractors for seamless execution. Develop detailed lighting designs and select appropriate lighting fixtures to enhance interior ambiance during renovation or remodeling projects. Produce high-quality construction detail documentation that guides installation processes accurately. Communicate with clients to present design options, gather feedback, and ensure satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle. Stay current with industry trends in interior design, building materials, BIM tools, color theory, and sustainable practices to continually elevate project quality. Experience Proven experience in selection design within restoration or renovation contracting environments. Strong proficiency in design software such as, AutoCAD Revit, SketchUp, 3ds Max, Rhinoceros 3D, along with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite for rendering and presentation purposes. Demonstrated ability to develop construction details and documentation aligned with building codes and safety standards. Experience managing multiple projects from concept through completion while adhering to budgets and timelines. Knowledge of residential interior design projects with an emphasis on remodeling or renovation work is highly desirable. Familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) tools for efficient project coordination. Excellent communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration. $45,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
