Job Description

Architect Trident Credit Partners Topeka, KS Job Details Full-time $70,000 - $90,000 a year 2 hours ago Qualifications Sketching Renovation construction projects Construction regulatory compliance Construction document project phase Driver's License Architecture License Residential design (architectural design tasks) Building code analysis Residential building projects Construction administration project phase Full Job Description About Us Trident Credit Partners are a residential 3D Home production and Historical Restoration Company serving Eastern Kansas, including Topeka, Independence, Parsons and more. We take on two kinds of work: restoring the region's historic "Downtown" buildings, and building new custom 3D printed concrete homes. We're looking for an in-house architect who wants to see projects through from first sketch to final walkthrough, working directly with our builders and clients. The Role As our in-house architect, you'll lead design on both restoration and new construction projects. Because you'll work alongside our construction team, you'll be on site regularly, see how your drawings translate into the finished building, and help solve problems as they come up in the field. This role suits someone who values craftsmanship, enjoys research, and likes collaborating with the people who build what they design. What You'll Do Design custom new homes, from concept and schematic design through construction documents. Document existing historic structures through field measurement, photography, and as-built drawings. Develop restoration and rehabilitation plans consistent with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. Prepare documentation for historic tax credit applications and coordinate with the Kansas State Historic Preservation Office and local preservation commissions as needed. Research original materials, construction methods, and architectural history to guide restoration decisions. Produce permit sets and work with local building departments on code compliance, including code challenges specific to older buildings. Coordinate with structural engineers, MEP consultants, and other outside professionals. Meet with clients to understand their goals, present designs, and guide them through decisions. Visit job sites regularly to answer questions, review progress, and resolve field issues with our crews.
What We're Looking For Required:
Professional degree in architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch from a NAAB-accredited program) Licensed architect in Kansas, or licensed in another state and able to obtain Kansas licensure within 6 months Solid understanding of residential building codes and construction methods Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites across the region
Preferred:
Experience with historic preservation, restoration, or adaptive reuse projects Familiarity with federal and Kansas historic rehabilitation tax credit programs Knowledge of traditional building materials and methods (masonry, lime mortar, old-growth wood, plaster) Experience working in a design-build environment
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
Work Location:
In person
