Haynes Architecture P.C. is a full-service architectural practice with a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial projects. We are seeking a Junior Architect/Draftsperson to participate in all phases of design, permitting, and construction administration. Qualified candidates should possess a professional degree in architecture and have one to three years of experience working in an architectural office. We are looking for a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and well-organized individual to join our team.

Responsibilities include:

Preparing accurate architectural drawings and construction documents using AutoCAD Developing design and technical solutions throughout all phases of a project Coordinating drawings and project requirements with consultants Communicating with clients, contractors, consultants, and municipal agencies Assisting with construction administration and reviewing on-site construction Incorporating redlines and revisions accurately and efficiently Completing building, permit, zoning, and planning board applications Filing applications and related documents with the appropriate municipal departments and agencies Performing field measurements of existing houses and buildings Preparing existing-conditions drawings based on field measurements Assisting with general administrative tasks related to project coordination, permitting, and office operations Requirements include: Strong AutoCAD drafting experience and a high level of proficiency are required Demonstrated experience preparing architectural construction documents in AutoCAD Thorough understanding of architectural drafting standards, dimensions, annotations, layers, lineweights, and drawing organization Ability to accurately translate sketches, field measurements, and design concepts into coordinated architectural drawings Ability to accurately measure existing houses and buildings and document existing conditions Familiarity with building, permit, zoning, and planning board applications is preferred Revit experience is a plus but is not required Proficiency in SketchUp and other 3D visualization programs is a plus Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Experience preparing construction documents Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple assignments Strong organizational and administrative skills A valid driver's license and access to a reliable car are required Must live locally and be available to travel to project sites and municipal offices as needed Applicants must currently reside locally in the New York City metropolitan area and have legal authorization to work in the United States.
